The Office of Undergraduate Research spends over 95% of its annual budget supporting undergraduate research.
Over 200 Awards/Year
The majority of the OUR’s funding goes directly to student researchers supported by our funding programs.
Nearly 1000 Presenters/Year
Each year the OUR hosts 3 symposia. Across all 3, nearly 1,000 undergraduate researchers present their work.
Over 1300 Students/Year
The OUR engages with over 1300 students/year who are curious about doing undergraduate research. We help them get started!
Sponsorship Opportunities
The Office of Undergraduate Research is always grateful for donations and puts these generous gifts towards supporting undergraduate researchers across the campus.
Programs
Project Supply Grants—$1500 supports one student for one term providing personal compensation and a budget for research supplies.
$60,000 sponsors the entire program (~60* awards) for a full year (fall, spring, and summer terms). *The OUR utilizes Federal Work-Study and the Provost’s Professional Experience Program to maximize our financial impact.
Federal Work-Study Research Assistant Program—$500 supports one student for the entire academic year and is supplemented by the federal government’s Federal Work-Study program.
$40,000 sponsors the entire program (~80 students) for a full year (fall and spring, with summer only as permitted and determined by the federal work-study program).
NCUR Travel Award—Award amounts vary depending on location of the annual National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR). On average, $1200 will provide complete financial support for one student to present their research at NCUR.
$40,000 sponsors the entire cohort of ~30 students (plus 2 chaperones) selected to present at NCUR in any given year.
Travel Awards—$200 will fund one student’s award, providing significant partial support for their travel to present their research at a professional conference.
$10,000 sponsors the entire program (~50 awards) for a full year (fall, spring, and summer terms).
Events
Summer Undergraduate Research and Creativity Symposium—$2500 will cover the cost of all expenditures related to the summer symposium.
Spring Undergraduate Research and Creativity Symposium—$5000 will cover the cost of all expenditures related to the spring symposium.
Sponsorship Levels
Partial Program Sponsors will be named in program acceptance letters, receive a thank you note from each student supported, and will be acknowledged with supported students’ presentations.
Full Program Sponsors will receive everything partial program sponsors receive, plus will be listed on the program website and included on program promotional materials during the term of the sponsorship.
Partial Event Sponsors will be acknowledged in the event’s abstract book which is kept available online for four years until archived.
Full Event Sponsors will receive everything partial event sponsors receive, plus will be listed on the event website and included on event promotional materials.
