Find Summer Research Programs

Summer research programs are a great way to add research into your time at NC State. Opportunities exist for any field/discipline, and the experience can also help prepare you for graduate school and a research-focused career. See below how to find summer programs at NC State and beyond, and to learn more.

Summer Research Programs

Summer programs (sometimes called REUs or Research Experiences for Undergraduates) exist for any interest and experience level, nationwide.

Students are paid to conduct full-time research with a paired faculty mentor as part of a larger cohort. The programs include professional development and networking opportunities.

As an example of research, two researchers wearing lab coats, gloves, and safety glasses are in a wet lab surrounded by equipment and supplies for molecular biology. They are examining something on the lab bench in front of them that is behind a rack of 15 mL falcon tubes in the foreground.

Finding Summer Research Programs

  • Search through the Office of Undergraduate Research’s list of NC State-hosted summer research programs. Please note that these programs are not managed by the Office of Undergraduate Research. Students with questions should reach out to the individual programs for information.
