Accessing Your Free Council on Undergraduate Research Membership
The Office of Undergraduate Research maintains an enhanced institutional membership to the Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR). This provides free membership to all members of NC State's community (students, faculty, and staff).
To access your free membership, visit the Council on Undergraduate Research website. Under the “My Account” tab (upper right), select “Log In”. On the Login page, select “Create an account.” at the bottom of the user interface. Create an account using your NC State email.
Student Benefits
- Add membership affiliation to CV/resume and graduate school applications.
- Access to various member-only funding opportunities to present at research conferences.
- See our Additional Funding page for a list of CUR Travel Awards.
- Access to student support, including:
- Access to the member-only job board plus additional online member communities to post questions and learn about new resources.
- Discounts on CUR publications and event registration (including professional development webinars and the National Conference on Undergraduate Research).
- Students interested in presenting at the National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR) should explore the OUR’s NCUR Travel Award.
- Free access to Scholarship and Practice of Undergraduate Research Journal (includes archives).
- Receive bi-weekly newsletters, divisional newsletters, and announcements about events, programs, and professional development opportunities.
- Subscriptions can be edited at any time.
- Eligibility to submit a highlight of your research for inclusion in CUR’s Undergraduate Research Stories.
- Make sure to tell the Office of Undergraduate Research if you’re featured so we can promote the article and celebrate with you!
Faculty and Staff Benefits
- Add membership affiliation to CV/resume and grant proposals.

- Access to the resources for implementing Characteristics of Excellence in Undergraduate Research 2.0 (COEUR 2.0).
- The Office of Undergraduate Research is happy to assist our campus colleagues who wish to use this assessment tool.
