Parks and Swimming Pools

Raleigh Swimming Pools (Many pools throughout the city, including some very close to campus.  The Lake Johnson pool is close to campus and is very nice with grassy areas for sunbathing.)

Durant Nature Preserve

Pullen Park (right next to campus, nice café, paddle boats, carousel, train)

Kentwood Park (disc golf course)

Lake Johnson (nice walking/jogging trails, boats to rent)

Rose Garden (beautiful roses, easy walk from campus)

William B. Umstead State Park (lots of trails, fishing, camping)

Shopping:

Cameron Village (very close to campus–small boutique shops, lots of restaurants)

Cary Crossroads (big shopping area with Target; Old Navy; Home Depot; Bed, Bath, and Beyond; etc.)

Grocery Stores       

The closest grocery store is Food Lion at 3926 Western Blvd, just a few blocks from Wolf Village.

Restaurants 

There are lots of restaurants in walking distance from the dorms and from SAS Hall, the math building.  A couple you should check out: Neomonde (yummy Lebanese food) and Cook Out (close to Wolf Village, super cheap food and great milkshakes).
